VSP is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to enhance patient experiences by preparing for exams, performing pre-tests, and guiding patients through the care pathway. This role connects patients with Optometrists and supports both in-person and remote examinations.

The position offers full-time hours with a pay rate of $18 to $27 per hour, emphasizing documentation, insurance preauthorization, and collaboration with retail staff to coordinate care plans.

Competenze

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Mansioni

• Complete patient registration and submit medical history and ocular data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams with pre-testing and documentation.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits to patients and preauthorize insurance.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books; contact no-shows.
• Maintain patient flow and answer clinical questions.
• Instruct patients on contact lens use, care, and dispensing.
• Place and stock diagnostic contact lens orders; notify when ready.
• Maintain clean exam environment and equipment; travel as needed.
