Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to enhance patient experiences by preparing patients for on-site or remote examinations and performing pre-exam tests. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, explaining procedures and ensuring accurate EMR documentation.

The role supports both in-store and remote exams, requiring flexible scheduling and a background in optical/healthcare. Training is provided, and part-time hours are offered with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations. Document results in EMR.
• Explain the preliminary testing process to patients for onsite and remote exams.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through the remote eye exam including testing and documenting results.
• Transition patients to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage appointment books per company guidelines.
• Maintain patient records according to company standards.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, care and handling.
