Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite or remote examinations, perform pre-exam testing, and explain each step of the process. The role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists and supports the initial patient journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and assist registration and data collection.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail associates with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and assist with insurance preauthorization.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient records and assist with contact lens orders.
• Maintain a clean clinical environment and equipment.
• Be willing to travel to other locations as needed.
