Job summary

VisionWorks in New York seeks a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for on-site or remote eye exams, perform pre-exam tests, and explain each step. This role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists to support the initial steps of the patient journey. One year of related experience is preferred; optical/healthcare background is beneficial.

Training provided. You will document results in EMR, assist with insurance preauthorization, and help manage appointments

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical/healthcare.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and submit pertinent information in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; document results.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and conferencing.
• Transition exam results to the retail team with recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOPs and manage appointments.
