Job summary

Novolex in Temple, TX is hiring an Extrusion Operator to safely run extrusion lines, monitor quality and efficiency, and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

This full-time position offers several shifts with premiums for the afternoon and night slots. Pay starts at $21.02–$22.44 per hour, with growth opportunities and on-the-job training to advance skills within our packaging manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment as a Setup Operator or Extrusion Machine Operator.
• Able to show up for work prior to shift and be prepared to get the day going on time.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience with Extrusion Machines.
• Excellent communication skills, detailed record keeping per prescribed frequency.
• Analytical and math skills; understands production measurement tools.
• Knowledge of product quality standards.
• Comfortable wearing PPE (hairnets, beard nets, steel-toed shoes/boots, ear protection, bump caps).
• Manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion machines safely and consistently, meeting waste, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machines to identify and fix problems.
• Provide innovative solutions for production issues.
• Support and guide less experienced personnel.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork detailing crewing time, machine time, and production quantities.
• Inspect products for defects and adjust machines to prevent defects.

Extrusion Operator | Now Hiring | Temple, TX

Compensation:

• Pay rate starting at $21.02-22.44 per hour

Available Shifts:

• 7:30am-4:00pm
• 3:30pm-12:00pm - shift premium $1.00 per hour
• 11:30pm-8:00am - shift premium $1.25 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Extrusion Operator consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
• Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
• Provide innovative solutions for production issues
• Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
• Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
• Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
• Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
• Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required
