Job summary

Novolex is seeking an Extrusion Operator for our Connersville, Indiana facility. The role involves inputting extrusion parameters, following production schedules, and keeping equipment and work areas clean. You will troubleshoot the extrusion system and coordinate with QA to ensure product quality.

Shifts include Day and Night with a starting wage of $23.25 per hour plus a $1 night differential. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 4 years of manufacturing

Responsibilities

Job Description

How

Extrusion Operator|Connersville, IN|HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Compensation:

• $23.25 an hour and up (additional $1 per hour as shift differential for nights)

Available Shifts:

• Day Shift
  • 6:45am - 7:00pm
• Night Shift
  • 6:45pm - 7:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Inputting the appropriate parameters to maximize efficiency of the extruder.
• Responsible for following the assigned production schedule.
• Responsible for keeping the area(s) and machine(s) clean and free of debris.
• Responsible for troubleshooting the extruder system for zone temperatures, vacuum, melt filtration, extruder speed and pelletizing parameters, pellet output quality and rate, and refresher system operation.
• Responsible for the filing of work requests for repairs or preventive maintenance.
• Responsible for conducting melt filter screen changes to include the cleaning of all parts involved. By utilization of brass brushes and an incinerator oven followed by water pressure cleaning or sand blasting.
• Coordinate with Quality Associate (QA) to maintain product quality and avoid off-spec cross-contamination in the silos.
• Participate and support, for every employee, a safe work environment by following all facility safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• Participate and support, for every employee, and visitor; the adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of 6 months-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of Safety procedures
• Critical decision-making ability.
• Flexibility and adaptability and the ability to focus and pay attention to detail.
• Must be able to complete the following physical requirements
  • Sitting, standing, walking
  • Lifting and carrying: 0-49 lbs.
  • Pushing pulling, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling
  • Reaching, grasping, repetitive motions
