Job summary

Dorsey College in Madison Heights, MI, is seeking a Career Service Advisor I to guide graduates through externships, job placement, and related career services. You will coordinate externships, monitor progress, and build relationships with local employers to secure opportunities.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and the ability to work with campus teams and students. Evening or weekend hours may be required to meet deadlines, with frequent travel to campus locations

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Job development/job placement experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate externship program and help students find externship sites.
• Track student progress and complete required paperwork.
• Counsel students and refer issues to leadership when needed.
• Develop relationships with employers to secure externship and job placement.
• Assist with resume writing, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Participate in local job fairs and employer outreach to promote graduates.
