Employment Status: Part‑Time (August – June 1, M‑F 2:00 p.m. to‑6:30 p.m. on site)

Position Overview

We are seeking a high‑energy, Christian leader to serve as our Extended Care Coordinator for the upcoming school year. This multifaceted role requires a unique blend of administrative expertise and a heart for serving a diverse group of students, as you will oversee all aspects of our Extended Care programming. From coordinating day‑to‑day business operations and facilities management to overseeing staff who are highly engaged with students you will ensure our Extended Care Program runs safely, efficiently, and in a well‑organized way – with joy, fun and friendship for every student.

As the primary leader after the school day ends, you will be responsible for employee management, including the hiring, training, and mentoring of a diverse Extended Care staff. You must possess extensive experience working with children, including a high level of competency in supporting children with disabilities and/or medical needs. This leader must have extensive experience in implementing and training staff on grace‑based discipline strategies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem‑solver who can pivot between fun activities, hands‑on site management, and parent communications all while maintaining the enthusiasm necessary to foster a vibrant, Christ‑centered environment for our students.

This position will require some training and development before the first day of school start date of 08/12/2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans and organizes all aspects of the Extended Care Program.
  • Works with the Marketing & Communications Department on materials and communication.
  • Facilitates relationships with other local organizations to coordinate activities for students enrolled in Extended Care.
  • Builds and maintains Extended Care check‑in / check‑out processes and software.
  • Arranges payments, fees, and refunds for Extended Care services in coordination with relevant business office personnel.
  • Provides information and follows all processes for Human Resources, Marketing & Communication, food services, health services, business and facility operations.
  • Works with athletics administrators and coaches along with leaders of other co‑curricular programs to coordinate efficient pick‑up / drop‑off to support the development of each program.
  • Manages the set up and clean up of Extended Care ensuring all furniture and supplies are returned to the proper location for each school day.
  • Manages day‑to‑day operations for students participating in Extended Care, including:
    • Coordinating pickup and drop‑off for daily student attendance during Extended Care.
    • Working closely with other division leads to ensure daily programming and logistics functions in conjunction with school maintenance and construction schedules.
  • Manages Extended Care employees to include:
    • Recruiting / Hiring
    • Onboarding / Training
    • Scheduling
    • Payroll
    • Managing
  • Works with on‑site food service provider as needed.
  • Communicates monthly with parents regarding Extended Care schedules and activities.
  • Manages all purchasing and coding for any Extended Care supplies and materials. Purchases bulk food items for snacks and activities.
  • Manages conflict resolution and discipline for all Extended Care participants.
  • Works with the Director of Health Services to document and plan for student medical needs which could occur after school.
  • Handles overall management of the CCS Extended Care Program with building level managers and operational staff, including:
    • Greets visitors, answers phones, and responds to email inquiries.
    • Working with other CCS staff and division leads to coordinate campus use of space and cleaning.
    • Working with campus security personnel to ensure all safety and security procedures are followed.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years experience working in business operations involving a school or camp.
  • High level of customer service skills and the ability to communicate the mission of the school and represent CCS positively across all school divisions.
  • Strong administrative background.
  • Experience working with students and families from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School.
  • Character, call, and availability to fulfill the needs of the job description.
  • Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to problem‑solve and think creatively.
  • Adept at using technology including all functions of Google Workspace and Extended Care management software.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • This is a role that requires sitting, standing and/or walking for the majority of the shift.
  • This is a role that requires some heavy lifting.
  • This is a role that requires the ability to handle significant amounts of a 4‑hour day in the hot sun and Chattanooga humidity.
  • The employee may need to physically support students with physical disabilities and should have no health issues which would prevent assisting a student getting in and out of a chair or wheelchair.
  • The employee may need to assist staff with toileting and diaper changes.
  • The employee will need to read and write in English, including the ability to read fine print.
  • The employee will need to be able to hear and speak.
