Job summary

Doctors Medical Center of Modesto is seeking an Activity Therapy Assistant to support the Behavioral Health Center. You will facilitate treatment groups, assist in evaluating patients for expressive arts therapy participation, and collaborate with the Activity Therapist to tailor activities to the therapeutic milieu.

This per diem, day-shift role requires good English communication, a high school diploma (preferred) and BLS certification, with water-safety certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; AA or Bachelors in Art/Music/Movement/Dance Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or other appropriate discipline preferred.
• 1+ years experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility, Psychiatric Inpatient, experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Required – Current Healthcare Provider BLS card. Required water-safety certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates treatment groups, assists in evaluating and/or assessing patients and their potential for participation in expressive arts therapy groups.
• Works closely with the Activity Therapist in coordinating activities appropriate to the therapeutic milieu.
