Job summary

The Horsham Clinic is seeking an Activity Therapist to join its treatment team on site. The role focuses on trauma-informed group therapy and psycho-education using DBT as a model, leading skills training groups and expressive therapy to meet patient needs.

Certification in Creative Arts Therapies and experience with psychiatric populations are required, with credentials such as CTRS, MT-BC, RDT or R-DMT encouraged.

Qualifications

• Exposure to psychiatric patients (adults, adolescents, and dual diagnosed)
• Experience in Group Therapy required
• Masters Degree/certification in creative arts therapies (music, dance/movement and/or drama)
• Licenses Certifications: CTRS, MT-BC, RDT, R-DMT, LPC
• Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, nursing clinical practices, and management
• Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 1+ years of progressive experience in behavioral health setting preferred
• Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed group therapy and psycho-education using the dialectical behavior therapy model
• Lead a variety of skills training groups, process and/or expressive therapy groups
• Offer opportunities for patients to learn and demonstrate healthy adaptive skills
• Coordinate therapy activities as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
