Job summary

The Horsham Clinic is seeking an Activity Therapist to join its treatment team on site. The role focuses on trauma-informed group therapy and psycho-education using DBT as a model, leading skills training groups and expressive therapy to meet patient needs.

Certification in Creative Arts Therapies and experience with psychiatric populations are required, with credentials such as CTRS, MT-BC, RDT or R-DMT encouraged.

Qualifications

• Exposure to psychiatric patients (adults, adolescents, and dual diagnosed)
• Experience in Group Therapy required
• Masters Degree/certification in creative arts therapies (music, dance/movement and/or drama)
• Licenses Certifications: CTRS, MT-BC, RDT, R-DMT, LPC
• Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, nursing clinical practices, and management
• Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 1+ years of progressive experience in behavioral health setting preferred
• Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities

The Horsham Clinic is a 206-bed, private behavioral healthcare facility located on a beautiful 55-acre suburban campus in Montgomery County. We are minutes from Philadelphia and serve patients and families from Southwestern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. In addition to our main campus in Ambler, we have two satellite partial hospitalization programs in Chester County and Delaware County. The Activity Therapist is also responsible to provide a variety of group therapies consistent with the clinical needs of the population and the philosophy and objectives of The Horsham Clinic.

The Expressive Therapist is an active member of the treatment team responsible for providing trauma informed group therapy and psycho-education routed in the dialectical behavior therapy model. They is responsible to provide a variety of opportunities for patients to learn and demonstrate healthy adaptive skills. Certification in Creative Arts Therapies (Music, Dance/Movement and/or Drama).
