Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise daily operations across departments. You will mentor staff, manage staffing and promotions, and uphold Meijer standards to deliver superior customer service.

The role emphasizes P&L ownership, shrink reduction, and ensuring a safe, well-presented store during peak hours. A background in retail leadership and certification readiness is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli helpful.
• Clear direction and strong communication with team members.
• Conflict resolution and root-cause problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling and lead safety practices.
• Certifications as required by the role.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; promote career development and promotions.
• Staffing, hiring and ensuring adequate coverage.
• Document disciplinary actions and staff performance decisions.
• P&L responsibility; drive sales and reduce shrink.
• Maintain store appearance and presentation during prime hours.
• Communicate Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and daily work.
• Ensure team training completion and adherence to safety standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service and efficient operations.
