Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leader who plans, directs, and supervises day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor and coach team members to deliver exceptional customer service and drive store sales while upholding company standards.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, and implementing strategies for efficient, friendly service during peak hours. You will also manage discipline, promote career development, and maintain a safe, well-presented shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime hours, product presentation and standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development paths.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations on discharge.
• Ensures team is trained and spends time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
