Job summary

AutoNation in North Canton, OH is hiring a Non-Certified Technician to inspect arriving vehicles, test performance, and perform minor repairs to place cars in saleable condition. The role requires basic mechanical skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read instructions and safely use hand tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of prior automotive repair or service experience.
• General mechanical skills and safety awareness.
• Ability to read instructions and follow procedures.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles delivered to the dealer for safety and defects.
• Start engine and test steering, brakes, transmission and engine operation.
• Test and operate electrical systems (windows, seats, radio, lights).
• Install optional equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and tune engines as needed.
• Ensure vehicles meet saleable condition before delivery to customers.
