Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Certified Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned, while building customer trust and ensuring vehicle safety and reliability. The role requires Ford or OEM certification training, ASE certification, and at least 2 years of dealership technician experience.

You will collaborate with Parts and Service Advisors, diagnose malfunctions, conduct multi-point inspections, and document all work.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of dealership experience as an automotive technician, Ford preferably.
  • Experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • ASE, Ford Certified or other brand OEM Certified Automotive technical training.
  • Attention to detail, Organization and follow-up skills.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technicians tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
