UNC Charlotte is seeking an Export Control & Research Security Manager to lead the university's export control and research security programs. You will ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, OFAC, foreign travel screening, and related requirements.

You will develop policies, provide training, and collaborate with various university offices to manage risks and support secure research activities. A bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced degree in law, public administration, research administration, international affairs, compliance, security studies, or related field.
• Knowledge of U.S. trade controls (ITAR, EAR) and federal research compliance requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the university’s export control and research security programs and related international research compliance activities.
• Review regulatory materials and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement policies on compliance and foreign influence; determine licensing exemptions and exceptions.
• Provide training on export control laws and university policies; deliver workshops and online courses.
• Collaborate with campus offices and legal/compliance staff; monitor regulatory developments and perform risk assessments.
• Support secure research environments, coordination with affected departments, and maintain program documentation.
