Job summary

Attain Partners is seeking a Research Security Officer to lead the university clients' research security and export controls programs, ensuring compliance with federal laws and agency policies. You will partner with institutional leaders to translate complex regulations into practical controls and training.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to build trusted relationships across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of direct experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience developing and implementing research compliance programs.
• Ability to interpret federal regulation; synthesize complex sets of rules.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of compliance and oversees adherence to federal regulations and policies related to research security and export controls.
• Executes compliance program activities, including risk assessments and corrective actions.
• Serves as the institution’s research security point of contact and responds to information requests.
• Manages export control program obligations, ITAR determinations, and license processes.
• Develops policies and trains staff to support export control compliance.
