Job summary

Blykalla is seeking an Export Control Manager to lead the US export/import control program for its Austin-based team. You will govern classification, licensing, and compliance for nuclear-related equipment and software, coordinating with Sweden and regulators.

In this hands-on role, you’ll establish policies, manage filings, train staff, and ensure timely, risk-aware decisions that enable international collaboration while meeting all U.S. and international requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing U.S. export controls across classification, licensing and transfers.
• Experience applying DOE Part 810 and NRC Part 110 with EAR understanding.
• Knowledge of U.S. import, sanctions screening and foreign-national controls.
• Experience preparing regulatory submissions and working with federal regulators.
• Ability to translate technical details into practical regulatory decisions.
• Experience building or improving compliance processes.
• Strong English communication; Swedish language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine regulatory jurisdiction and classify equipment, materials, software and technology.
• Exercise delegated authority to approve or stop transfers.
• Establish policies and workflows for DOE 10 CFR Part 810, NRC Part 110, EAR and sanctions.
• Manage authorizations, licensing, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Implement restricted‑party screening and provide training.
• Coordinate transfers with Sweden and partners ensuring compliance.
• Manage access controls for foreign‑national personnel and deemed exports.
• Embed export/import requirements into design reviews and procurement.
• Coordinate with suppliers and customs on classifications and shipping docs.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance to leadership.
