Job summary

Blykalla in Austin, TX is seeking a Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer focused on design quality to help bring a first-of-a-kind reactor program to life through controlled, traceable engineering work.

You will translate requirements into design documents, review verification, and ensure change control, applying ASME NQA-1 and collaborating across disciplines to support reactor design and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality assurance, design quality, or engineering work with formal design controls.
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, calculations, and engineering docs.
• Experience with document control, design reviews, change management, non-conformances, or corrective actions.
• Confidently raise quality concerns and work with engineers to resolve them.

Responsibilities

• Support design control processes for inputs, outputs, reviews, verification, interfaces, and changes.
• Review engineering deliverables for compliance and proper approvals.
• Ensure design verification planning, documentation, and independent execution by qualified personnel.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, outputs, and verification evidence.
• Support configuration management and controlled documentation throughout the program.
• Identify and resolve quality issues and track corrective actions to closure.
• Conduct or support internal audits and oversee external engineering services quality.
• Develop and improve engineering quality procedures, templates, and training.
• Coordinate with procurement and supplier quality to communicate design requirements.
