Job summary

Blykalla in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Nuclear Operations Manager to define and implement the operational framework for Fjäll from design through startup and into operations. You will oversee fuel receipt, core loading, crane lifts, and the conduct of operations with a focus on safety, efficiency and regulatory readiness.

You report to the Head of US Project Development and collaborate with SEALER operations in Sweden, guiding a growing on-site team, developing procedures, training

Qualifications

• 8+ years in nuclear facility operations with licensed or certified operator experience.
• Experience providing operator training and qualification.
• Ability to write operating procedures and support design inputs.

Responsibilities

• Write and own the concept of operations for the facility.
• Define operational requirements and work with Engineering and Design Authority.
• Provide operations input to the safety basis and regulatory interactions.
• Establish conduct of operations and procedure structure (normal/abnormal/emergency).
• Design operator training and qualification programs using SAT.
• Coordinate with the operating partner and plan handover to in-house staff.
• Lead startup readiness, initial fuel load and approach to criticality.
• Oversee interfacing with design authority, QA, radiation protection and fuel teams.
