Pacific Northwest National Laboratory seeks an experienced Export Control professional to lead its export control program, ensuring regulatory compliance across operations and initiatives. You will interpret regulations, assess risks, and support documentation for export transactions.

The role requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external partners, and the ability to manage high-risk issues affecting laboratory strategy. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a BS/BA with 5 years of export compliance experience or an MS/MA with 3 years of export compliance experience.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in a research-based export compliance environment, understanding of export classification, shipping, and technology classification, and experience submitting export license applications to DDTC and/or BIS.

Responsibilities

• Provide the technical expertise for operating the Export Control program in line with organizational goals.
• Develop and maintain a peer network of Export Control professionals at DOE Labs and industry.
• Interpret Export Control regulations to determine license requirements.
• Perform sanctioned entity checks and other export control reviews/determinations.
• Review and approve associated Laboratory processes and transactions.
• Support review and documentation of export transactions, classifications, and determinations.
• Evaluate PNNL compliance with internal and external laws, regulations, and requirements using risk-based principles.
