Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; transcripts must be submitted.
• Combination of education and experience may qualify if the computed percentage is at least 100%.
• At least 1 year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent; experience in explosives/occupational safety and health program management.
• Knowledge of DESR 6055.09, AFI/DoD/ OSHA standards, and regulations governing weapons/explosives safety and hazardous materials.
• Ability to advise management on courses of action affecting facility operation, safety procedures, and hazard control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate a weapons/explosives and occupational safety program.
• Advise key management on safety procedures, operations, and hazard control.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to explosives safety facilities and operations.
• Serve as technical authority with broad reach in safety standards and program execution.
