Job summary

Safe Air Technology, a Baton Rouge-based manufacturer of explosion-proof HVAC systems, seeks a Production Planning Coordinator to optimize material flow and coordinate production priorities. You will work across Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Engineering and Quality to resolve bottlenecks and align workloads with priorities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, operations, material control, production planning, or a related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities and production priorities within the Explosion Proof area.
• Ensure employees have the materials, information, and priorities needed to complete scheduled work.
• Monitor material flow throughout the shop and identify shortages, bottlenecks, staging issues, or other conditions that could delay production.
• Help establish and maintain effective shop-floor process controls to improve organization, accountability, and workflow.
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve material and production issues.
• Track work in process and help ensure projects move efficiently from one production stage to the next.
• Monitor production priorities and communicate changes to the appropriate departments and team members.
• Assist with determining material requirements and ensuring materials are staged and available when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve production flow, reduce downtime, and eliminate unnecessary movement or delays.
• Support production leadership with manpower and capacity planning.
• Assist with developing and maintaining production schedules based on project requirements, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
• Track production progress against scheduled dates and communicate potential delays or constraints.
• Maintain accurate production information and provide status updates to leadership.
• Assist with implementing standardized processes and procedures across manufacturing.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the operation.
• Perform other duties as needed to support production and company objectives.
