Job summary

Thanksgiving Point Institute Inc. is seeking Explorers for the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life. This part-time role (15 hours/week) requires morning availability and AM shifts from 8:45am to 3pm.

You will greet guests, guide hands-on learning, and support educational programming in a dynamic museum setting. Responsibilities include assisting with guest engagement, handling transactions, and maintaining a safe, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Must have morning availability and be able to work AM shifts.
• Strong customer service and guest engagement skills.
• Willingness to learn cash handling, register operation, and guest engagement techniques.
• Must be at least 16 years old and able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Must have morning availability.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with a willingness to collaborate and give and receive constructive feedback.
• A friendly, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in helping guests learn and explore.
• Comfort initiating conversations with guests and confidently reinforcing safety expectations.
• Patience and professionalism in a busy, energetic, and sometimes noisy environment.
• Willingness to learn cash handling, register operation, and guest engagement techniques.
• Comfort working indoors, around crowds, and with tasks such as feeding fish.
• Ability to perform physical duties that may include lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, bending, standing for extended periods, and manipulating small objects.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
