Job summary

Thanksgiving Point Institute is seeking a dedicated Landscaper to join our Grounds & Landscape team. This hands-on role covers lawns, flower beds, pathways, and seasonal event prep across our outdoor spaces.

You will operate boom lifts and forklifts for event installations, perform snow/ice removal in winter, and maintain safe, welcoming grounds for guests year-round. A valid Utah driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 100 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid Utah driver’s license required for company vehicle insurance coverage.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lawn care and restoration across the property, including sod placement and seeding.
• Flower beds and planting prep, soil amendment, edging, and seasonal care.
• Pathway and paver maintenance, including leveling and resetting pavers.
• Operate equipment for event installation and setup, including lights and tents.
• Snow and ice removal to keep grounds safe year-round.

Landscaper

Wage: $16 - $20/hour DOE

Shift: Seasonal – March‑October with possibility of winter work. 30‑39 hours per week. Mon‑Fri with some Saturdays. In the spring, 7am – 3:30pm; in the fall, 6am – 2:30pm.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and likes being part of a collaborative team. Whether you’re maintaining our grounds, operating equipment, or preparing for seasonal events, your work will help keep Thanksgiving Point beautiful, safe, and ready to explore year‑round.

Responsibilities

Lawn Care & Restoration

• Maintain beautiful, healthy lawns throughout the property.
• Repair event‑related lawn damage by cutting and laying sod, leveling ground, and seeding new or existing areas.

Flower Beds & Planting

• Prepare flower beds for planting by amending soil, incorporating fertilizers, and leveling and edging beds.
• Help maintain attractive, healthy landscaped areas throughout the seasons.

Pathway & Paver Maintenance

• Repair uneven or loose pavers by removing and resetting them.
• Install sleeves beneath pavers when needed and assist with installing new paved areas.

Landscape Maintenance

• Plant and remove trees, trim hedges, and prune trees and shrubs.
• Help maintain the health, appearance, and safety of our outdoor spaces.

Event Installation & Setup

• Operate boom lifts to install lights and other event props.
• Use forklifts to position tents and large props.
• Set up power cords and water connections in designated areas to support events and seasonal displays.

Snow & Ice Removal

• Operate snowplows and snow blowers and use shovels to clear snow from pathways and other areas.
• Apply ice melt as needed to help maintain safe, accessible grounds.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating vehicles and equipment such as trucks, trailers, boom lifts, tractors, forklifts, and RTVs, or the ability to learn as needed.
• Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment, including chainsaws, rototillers, sod cutters, and hedge trimmers.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Spanish‑speaking skills are helpful but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 100 pounds, standing for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
• Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
• Valid driver’s license required. A Utah driver’s license is necessary to qualify for coverage under company vehicle insurance.
• Must successfully pass a background check.

Schedule & Position Details

• Regular schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Summer schedule: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
• Occasional weekend work may be required to support property needs and special events.
