The role requires 14+ months retail meat experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or an equivalent training program. Physical duties include lifting and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• 14+ months of retail meat experience.
• Completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent.
• Able to stand 6-8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausages, oven-ready, cured meats).
• Checks product meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program and prevents spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainees and supports colleagues.
• Delivers courteous service and answers customer inquiries promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, and merchandising.
• Follows health, safety, and Weights & Measures procedures.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work and shopping areas.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and prices signs accurately.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
