Job summary

Arcfield seeks a hands-on technician to support materials testing, data acquisition, and experimental setup at our facilities. You will prepare test articles, run tests with labs, and calibrate sensors using oscilloscope and CAD tools.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures, designing fixtures, and collaborating with customers and vendors to develop test solutions. Willingness to travel and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient with measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, calipers).
• Willing to travel to support testing.
• Driven to improve laboratory processes and testing methods.
• Experience operating oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with CAD and the design/fabrication of fixtures and components.
• Experience with data analysis and writing test plans/reports.
• Experience with microscopy, optical/structural/thermal instrumentation.
• Scripting experience with Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Aid in development of test plans for materials testing and prepare test articles.
• Interface with labs for experimental duties and data capture; travel to facilities as needed.
• Operate data acquisition systems and calibrate sensors.
• Develop and document laboratory procedures and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with customers, team members, and vendors on test solutions.
• Operate and maintain gas gun impact test equipment and calibrate instrumentation.
