Qualifications

• Three+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm or similar setting.
• Knowledge of Ohio BWC and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures.
• Paralegal certificate or related degree preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare workers’ compensation claims for hearings.
• Draft pleadings, claim summaries, and other documents.
• Request, organize, and review medical records.
• Coordinate independent medical examinations and prepare summaries.
• Monitor case activity, filing requirements, and critical deadlines.
• Submit documents electronically to courts and administrative agencies.
• Proofread filings for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules.
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and outside parties.
• Identify potential issues and elevate them appropriately.
