Accounting Search in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in a reputable law office. The role focuses on managing claims, filings, and deadlines within Ohio workers’ compensation procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of paralegal experience, knowledge of Ohio BWC/Industrial Commission procedures, and a paralegal certificate or relevant degree.

Qualifications

• At least three years of paralegal experience in a law firm or other legal setting.
• Working knowledge of Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio procedures.
• Paralegal certificate, related degree, or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complete time-sensitive assignments.
• Sound judgment and a proactive approach to attorney support.

Responsabilités

• Prepare workers’ compensation claims for administrative hearings.
• Draft pleadings, claim summaries, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Request, organize, and review medical records.
• Coordinate independent medical examinations and prepare summary correspondence.
• Monitor case activities, filing requirements, and deadlines.
• Submit documents electronically to courts and administrative agencies.
• Proofread filings for accuracy and compliance with rules.
• Assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and outside parties.
• Identify potential issues and elevate them appropriately.
