Job summary

D. G. Granade, Inc. in Shingle Springs, CA is seeking two experienced carpenters to fabricate wood deck assemblies in our shop for a current construction project.

This is not an entry-level position. Qualified applicants will read plans, lay out work from dimensions, cut accurately, and assemble complete deck components with minimal supervision.

Shop-based, full-time roles with immediate start available, requiring commercial framing experience and pride in delivering high-quality finished work.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on carpentry experience.
• Comfortable working independently from plans and dimensions.
• Ability to read tape and construction drawings.
• Commercial construction and framing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand construction plans and details.
• Independently lay out deck framing and components.
• Lay out and cut stair stringers where required.
• Accurately cut and assemble dimensional lumber.
• Build framing square, level, and to the dimensions shown.
• Install decking and associated components.
• Identify and work through typical carpentry layout and fabrication issues.
• Safely and proficiently operate saws, drills, impact drivers, and other carpentry tools.
• Maintain consistent quality while working efficiently.
• Coordinate with our superintendent and other DGG personnel.
