Job summary

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our Overnight ER care team full time. Credentials desired but not required, with a focus on growth and development in a 24-hour ER setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as veterinary technician or assistant preferred.
• Must be able to perform venipuncture and IVC placement.
• Good communication with pet parents and team.
• Ability to work overnight in a fast-paced ER setting.

Responsibilities

• ER/ICU duties: collect histories & exams.
• Administer medications and communicate with pet parents.
• Proficient in medical calculations and radiology safety.
• Support hospital services and provide compassionate care.
• Collaborate with team across shifts and departments.

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Veterinary Technicians or Assistant to join our growing Overnight ER care team full time! Credentials desired but not required.

ER / ICU Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities:

• Collecting patient histories & physical exams
• Medication refills, and Pet parent communication
• Proficient in medical calculations
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients

Potential Schedule:

Full-time Overnight (12) hr shifts

Compensation:

$ 25 - $33 / hour dependent on experience, and skill set.
