Job summary

Priority Pet Urgent Care in Happy Valley, Oregon, is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art urgent care clinic. You will help triage and manage urgent cases, restrain and examine pets, collect samples, run diagnostics, and assist with anesthesia and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant with at least 2 years of professional experience.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Evening and weekend shift availability is required.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in sample collection, medical histories, lab tests and radiographs is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and triage patients; collect and analyze lab samples.

We are available for urgent care pet needs Thursday - Monday from 3 pm – 11 pm. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for a well-rounded and experienced medical team to help us achieve our vision!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

Additional Information

Pay Range:Starting at $24 - $28/hr. based on experience level
