Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is opening a new Priority Pet Urgent Care in Happy Valley, OR, August 2026. We’re seeking relief veterinary technicians and assistants to join a state-of-the-art clinic delivering urgent care from Thursday through Monday, 3 pm–11 pm, to support our team and the local community.

The ideal candidate has an active veterinary technician license (or relevant experience as a veterinary assistant), strong client communication, and proficiency in restraint, lab work, imaging,

Responsibilities

  • Restrain pets and triage patients
  • Collect and analyze lab samples

We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs Thursday - Monday from 3 pm – 11 pm. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for relief veterinary technicians and assistants to help our team provide excellent medical care!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re Looking For:
  • A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience
    • We are also open to considering experienced veterinary assistants for this position
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

**This is a relief position that does not provide full-time or part-time hour requirements**
