Alliance Animal Health in Morrisville, NC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our new Priority Pet Urgent Care clinic. You will assist in triage, labeling samples, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring and daily patient care in a fast paced urgent care environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year experience as a Veterinary Assistant (preferred).
• Ability to restrain pets and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in collecting medical histories, processing lab tests and radiographs is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples and radiographs.
• Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases; administration of medications.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients; assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.

We are available for urgent care pet needs every day from 4 pm – 12 midnight. We are excited to serve the local community and their pets, and are currently looking for additional well-rounded and experienced veterinary assistants to help us achieve our goals!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• AVeterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• The ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
