Priority Pet Urgent Care in Morrisville, NC invites you to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art clinic as a veterinary assistant. You will assist with triage, animal restraint, lab sample collection, imaging support, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining histories, processing tests and radiographs is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to grow in knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.

• Diagnostic imaging support and anesthesia monitoring.

We are available for urgent care pet needs every day from 4 pm – 12 midnight. We are excited to serve the local community and their pets, and are currently looking for additional well-rounded and experienced veterinary assistants to help us achieve our goals!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• AVeterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
