Priority Pet Urgent Care of St Augustine is opening a brand new state-of-the-art clinic in St. Augustine, FL, offering urgent care for pets daily from 3 pm to 11 pm.

We are assembling a medical care team and seeking veterinary technicians and assistants to join our growing practice. The role involves animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medication administration, client communication, and support for surgical and anesthesia procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary assistant experience required.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Evening and weekend shift availability.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Ability to multitask.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with sample collection, lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals as needed and assist triage of patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; perform imaging and radiographs.
• Provide nursing care and assist with medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Assist with surgical preparation and anesthesia management.

We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs every day from 3 pm – 11 pm. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for veterinary technicians and assistants to build our medical care team!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
