Job summary

The Learning Experience in Columbia is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for our Toddler Classroom (ages 1–2). You will guide and nurture toddlers, support independence, social skills, and developmental milestones through hands-on learning and positive guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience working with toddlers (ages 1–2), preferably in a lead teaching role.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Availability to work within our operating hours of 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or related education preferred.
• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) the free 15-hour South Carolina Health & Safety Certification before orientation.
• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Foster a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
• Support daily care routines, including diapering, meals, and transitions
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
• Observe, document, and communicate developmental milestones and classroom progress
• Encourage social-emotional growth through positive interactions and guidance
• Serve as a role model through professionalism, leadership, and teamwork

Lead Teacher – Toddler Classroom (Ages 1–2)

Location: The Learning Experience, Columbia

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (full availability required)

Pay: $16–$17 per hour, based on experience
