Securitas, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Security Officer for full-time at our West Des Moines, IA location. The role focuses on maintaining a secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance, and controlling access to protect people and property.

You will respond to emergencies, enforce policies, and deter threats, while providing excellent customer service and staying vigilant during shifts. Training and benefits are provided.

Experienced Security Officer - Full Time

Site Location: West Des Moines, IA

Wage: $28.00/HR

Schedule: 2nd & 3rd Shifts available with weekends included

The Security Officer protects people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment. They serve as a helpful professional resource while ensuring everyone on the property follows safety protocols.

What Your Day May Look Like

• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.

• Protect sensitive information and intellectual property from unauthorized access.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct long patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
