Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Float Pool in the Intermediate/Stepdown units with a weekend option. You will provide high-quality nursing care across multiple high-acuity settings while earning a $5.00/hour Float Pool premium and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• RN with 1 year of recent experience in intermediate/stepdown or acute care is preferred.
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state license.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care across intermediate and stepdown units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in patient rounds.
• Manage patient assignments with ratios typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:6 based on acuity.
• Provide supervision and mentorship as a preceptor to peers and learners.
