Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department Float Pool, providing care across Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional, and Duke Raleigh Hospitals in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires ED experience, strong teamwork and commitment to patient-centered care, with comprehensive benefits and special RN premiums. Eligible nurses may obtain tuition assistance and relocation support in Durham, NC.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) OR Associate's Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diploma program.
• Twelve months of Emergency Department clinical experience required for Experienced RN; two+ years ED experience preferred.
• Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing or compact licensure to practice in NC.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Monitor environment of care, equipment and material resources; initiate corrective action.
• Act as preceptor and support development of staff and learners; participate in performance improvement.
