Job summary

Southern Auto Group in Chesapeake, VA is hiring an Automotive Express/Quick Lube Technician to perform oil changes and basic maintenance for all makes and models.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, automotive training, 2+ years of dealer or large-facility experience, ASE certification (or willingness to obtain), and a valid driver’s license.

This is a full-time position with benefits in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent experience.
• ASE certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Unrestricted driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses oil and filter needs for proper maintenance.
• Performs routine service inspections and standard maintenance.
• Maintains vehicle exterior cleanliness during oil changes.
• Reports issues to the Service Advisor.
• Ensures documentation is complete and compliant.
• Supports shop cleanliness, safety, and inventory tasks.
• Follows shop policies and safety/environmental rules.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
