Job Description

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Quality Engineer to join our Phantom Works Quality Organization in Southern California.

Join Boeing as a Quality Engineer and drive world‑class safety and reliability across cutting‑edge aerospace programs. In this position, you will support quality defect reduction, root‑cause problem solving, and continuous improvement to ensure parts and processes meet the aerospace manufacturing standards.

Position Responsibilities
  • Integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Develop quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct or analyze capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Participate in design and quality reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated
  • Analyze non‑conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Provide Preliminary review dispositions for non‑conformances
  • Perform analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Provides quality interpretation of requirements
  • Recommends corrective actions
  • Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience working quality processes and procedures
  • 3+ years of experience reading, understanding and interpreting engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications)
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience with Early Quality Involvement Tool (EQI)
  • Secret Clearance preferred
  • Experience with new development programs
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, quality, or another highly regulated industry
  • Experience developing and reviewing proposals and contractual requirements
Travel

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
