Job summary

Beyond New Horizons LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Career Mechanical Engineer supporting AEDC at Arnold AFB, TN. You will work as part of an integrated team responsible for advancing test operations and sustainment.

The role requires leading design activities for process systems, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Strong CAD and GD&T skills, plus US citizenship for security clearance, are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years’ experience in process systems design (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping).
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD/ security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required to access secure federal networks at AEDC.
• 3+ years of experience in Process Systems Design (preferred).
• 3 years CAD experience using Autodesk Inventor; GD&T proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for mass and heat transfer systems (steam, air, fuel, hydraulics, coolants, evacuation, pumps, heat exchangers).
• Provide hydraulic/thermal analysis; develop schematics, layouts, procurement packages and supporting calculations.
• Independently perform complex analyses and lead design reviews and small-to-medium teams.
• Check designs originated by junior engineers; mentor and guide early-career staff.
• Coordinate with system engineers, craft supervisors, and planners to ensure fabrication conforms to design packages.
• Serve as engineering lead for a multi-year project and coach the team.
