Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Children’s Procedural Sedation Unit (CPSU). This on‑site role features a 40‑hour work week, with a schedule that supports work‑life balance and professional growth.

You will deliver pediatric sedation care, document nursing processes, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, quality procedures. Required BSN or higher, active NC RN license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) required.
• Current NC nursing license or compact with NC eligibility.
• BLS certification required; PALS preferred for pediatric sedation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide and document professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate sedation services in CPSU for complex pediatric cases.
• Lead and support nursing staff as team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
• Monitor equipment and environment of care; maintain patient safety.
• Participate in professional development and staff education/preceptorship.
• Schedule procedures requiring CPSU services and coordinate with teams.
