Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the General Pediatrics unit. The RN will deliver professional nursing care to pediatric patients, coordinate with the care team, and contribute to a busy 8-bed unit with 3-4 patient assignments and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements include a BSN or ADN, NC RN licensure (or compact state), and at least 1 year of pediatric or med/surg experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or 1 year of adult Med/Surg experience.
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care for pediatric patients.
• Supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers as needed.
• Delegate tasks and act as charge nurse for a group of patients or unit.
• Monitor equipment and environment to ensure safe care.
• Support professional development and participate in performance improvement activities.
