Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Portland, ME is seeking a Meat Cutter to receive, cut, wrap, and merchandize fresh meats and seafood, while assisting Members with product recommendations and maintaining department standards. The ideal candidate has completed a recognized training program or apprenticeship, and possesses prior meat cutting experience with familiarity in wrapping machines.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by making recommendations on meat, poultry, and seafood items.
• Cuts, grinds, weighs, packages, wraps and labels meat products to standard.
• Maintains the meat department displays and inventory levels.
• Ensures sanitation and safety standards are followed in the department.
• Receives and inspects meat deliveries and stores accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned in related departments.
