Job summary

Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven, Martha's Vineyard's premier full-service marina, seeks an experienced marine technician. You will inspect, maintain and repair boats, diagnose engines and electrical systems, and install marine gear to meet high standards of service.

Candidates should have Yamaha or Mercury outboard certification and ABYC/NMEA credentials; 5 years' experience preferred. Housing is available for the right candidate, with opportunity to work on diverse vessels and systems.

Qualifications

• Must be certified with Yamaha or Mercury outboards, YDIS/G3, 12v system diagnostics.
• ABYC, NMEA certifications are a plus.
• Technical experience with marine electrical, HVAC, and propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, masts, sails, and navigational equipment.
• Install and test sanitation and refrigeration systems, cabinetry, electrical systems, steering gear, and accessories.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove and install vessel systems and components.
• Assess job scope and budgeted time before starting work; source parts as needed.
• Possess own tools and work overtime to meet deadlines.
