Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles to dealer and manufacturer standards.
• Perform repair orders and complex diagnostics while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Identify additional safety or maintenance needs and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
• Road-test vehicles as needed to verify repairs and operation.
• Maintain documentation of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with advisors, parts, and technicians to complete repairs efficiently.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and share knowledge.
• Stay current with manufacturer training, bulletins, safety requirements, and regulations.
• Serve as a technical resource for diagnostics and problem solving.
• Maintain high CSI standards.

Job Description

The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. S/he also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him/her.

Salary: $35 - $55 / flat hour, based on experience and certifications

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles accurately and efficiently in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Perform work outlined on repair orders, including complex diagnostics and repairs, while maintaining quality and productivity expectations.
• Identify additional safety, maintenance, or repair needs and communicate findings clearly with the Service Advisor.
• Road-test vehicles as needed to verify repairs and ensure proper vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts, and other technicians to complete repairs efficiently and meet customer expectations.
• Support and mentor apprentice and developing technicians as assigned; share technical knowledge and best practices.
• Stay current on manufacturer training, technical bulletins, diagnostic procedures, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as a technical resource for the team by assisting with complex diagnostics, difficult repairs, and technical problem-solving.
• High CSI is a must.
