Poway Honda, part of the Sonic Automotive family, is hiring an Automotive Service Technician in Poway, CA. The position offers a pay scale of $35.00–$55.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing vehicles to dealer and factory standards, mentoring apprentices, and maintaining accurate service documentation while ensuring high CSI. Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to work in the USA.

The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. S/he also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him/her.

Salary: $35 - $55 / flat hour, based on experience and certifications

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicles accurately and efficiently in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Perform work outlined on repair orders, including complex diagnostics and repairs, while maintaining quality and productivity expectations.
• Identify additional safety, maintenance, or repair needs and communicate findings clearly with the Service Advisor.
• Road-test vehicles as needed to verify repairs and ensure proper vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts, and other technicians to complete repairs efficiently and meet customer expectations.
• Support and mentor apprentice and developing technicians as assigned; share technical knowledge and best practices.
• Stay current on manufacturer training, technical bulletins, diagnostic procedures, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as a technical resource for the team by assisting with complex diagnostics, difficult repairs, and technical problem-solving.
• High CSI is a must.
• ASE or manufacturing training.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
• All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
