Job summary

Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will report to the Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef and contribute to elevated dining experiences in a Platinum Level Private Club setting.

Responsibilities include setting up stations, preparing dishes, and maintaining sanitation, with regular shifts from 2pm-10pm Tue-Sat and 9am-5pm Sun. Competitive hourly pay and excellent benefits await.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience including line cook roles in a kitchen.
• Ability to follow recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
• Experience in a private club setting preferred or similar upscale environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock station per Governors Club guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follow recipes, portion control and presentation standards.
• Restock items as needed during the shift.
• Maintain station cleanliness and safety practices.
• Operate kitchen equipment properly.
• Assist with cleaning and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
• Take on additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Job description

Governors Club is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team. Our Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of food items and will report to the Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and stocking station according to guidelines
• Preparing all food items in a sanitary and timely manner
• Following recipes, portion control and presentation as set by Governors Club
• Restocking of all items as needed during the shift
• Cleaning and maintaining the station practicing good safety, sanitation and organizing skills
• Properly using all equipment in station
• Assisting with the cleaning and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas
• Performing additional responsibilities as requested by the Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Executive Chef as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Skilled professional cooking, knife handling, kitchen safety and sanitation practices and food handling
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Private club experience preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for duration of shift
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Full-Time: Regular employee averaging 32 or more hours per week after 90 days

Rate of Pay:

Start at $18.00-24.00 an hour, negotiable based on qualifications or experience *Pay is weekly*
